Rewards for all
This is a program that is beneficial both to recipients and volunteers. There is a medically proven calming effect in touching animals. Loneliness, depression, and with drawl can be relieved by varying degrees, by the comforting nearness of a friendly animal.
Volunteers add a new dimension to their lives and discover that sharing a pet and an hour or two of their time can offer deeply satisfying rewards. The pets also enjoy the socializing and time away from home with their owners.

Purpose
To improve the quality of life of socially isolated residents of nursing homes, hospitals, senior citizen homes. To enable pet owners to share with others the pleasures provided by their animals.
Background
Unconditional Love Guam Inc. is a non-profit organization on Guam that fills a great need.
How it works
Volunteers and their pets, mostly dogs, (but cats and other animals are welcome), visit a nursing home or other care center for 1 to 1 1/2 hours each week. The pets can be talked to and stroked, in return for unselfish kisses and in some cases, entertaining tricks. They are always asked to come back!
The need
Many more volunteer pet teams are needed to ensure that all of the residents and patients of Guam’s health care centers are visited weekly. In addition to visiting volunteer pet teams, there is a need for help by those experienced with administration tasks. Funds also are necessary for Volunteer coordination and communications material.
